Halton Support Services Respite Program

The purpose of the program is to provide short-term relief for families or primary caregivers who are providing care to a child/adult with a developmental disability or a child with a physical disability and are residing in the Halton Region.

The program provides funding for both in and out of home respite.

What can I use it for?

 Respite and Support:  Respite provides a break for the families and may help avoid burn-out, stress and fatigue.

 


Who can apply?

Parents and caregivers of individuals who have completed the intake process through Halton Support Services.



Who is eligible?
To be eligible, the applicant must

  • have a developmental disability or be a child with a physical disability
  • be a resident of Halton Region
  • be living at home with their families

How do I apply?

To be considered for funding from Halton Support Services, Respite Program, families must complete the Intake Process for developmental services in Halton Region by contacting our agency's intake coordinator 905 844-7864 x221 or hssintake@cwsds.ca. Once completed, your information will be forwarded to the Respite Program and your application for funding will be reviewed.

Funding must be applied for annually. 
Applicants will be notified annually of approved allotments by the respite coordinator at Halton Support Services.
