Admission Criteria : Families of children and youth with a disability may qualify to receive respite funding through the Children’s Community Network. Allocations are determined based on the level of need of the individual and the family as determined by an eligibility assessment.
Activities : Families can use their funding for in-home or out-of-home respite. With in-home respite, a respite provider goes into the individual’s home. With out-of-home respite, a respite provider takes the individual out of the home to improve community integration and caregiver relief. Activities may include accompanying the individual to a camp or bringing the individual on an outing.
Comments : Funding can also be used to reimburse camp fees, private 1:1 lesson and tutoring fees, and certain private respite agency fees.
