Program Title : Respite Care Program
Program Time : 24 hr period, 7 days / wk (with exception December 25th & 26th)
Program Runs from : Ongoing
Program Length : Pending availability, no more than 14 consecutive days.
Program Cost : $40/24 hr visit, $20/day visit
Admission Criteria : Safehaven provides respite services for newborns, babies, toddlers, children, and teenagers (up to the age of 17) with physical and/or developmental disabilities and children with complex medical needs, (including technologically dependent medical conditions).
Activities : Safehaven provides an out-of-home respite program which aims to offer an enriching experience for children. Safehaven's respite program has a clear focus on community participation and inclusion and recreational programming, while enabling the child's parent/guardian to take a break from their constant caring role. Safehaven works in partnership with families in aiming to deliver a quality respite program that becomes an extension of the child's family home.
Activities include but are not limited to:
-pet therapy
-music therapy
-tactile and sensory arts, crafts and games
-community outings
-swimming (summer months only)
-Snoezelen room
-Clown visits
Comments : We are currently offering respite services only at our 1173 Bloor Street West, Toronto location.

We assess all children and if the family is willing to travel, they could access our Downtown Toronto location
